About Laura

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The George Washington University in Washington, DC in 1993. I have had a long and successful career in the corporate world as a Software Architect, Business Analyst, and Instructor for Siebel Systems (subsequently bought by Oracle Corporation) in the USA as well as in Australia. I currently do periodic consulting in the software industry on a short term basis.

I was drawn to the Seven Level System of Reiki while working in Australia on a software implementation in 2005/2006. I immediately knew that it was pure and true Reiki that works. I feel the Reiki energy strongly while giving and receiving it. Each level of Reiki has brought remarkable growth, alignment, and clarity; this has been facilitated by the expansion of energy flowing through me all the time, plus the access to the additional Reiki energy, and the tools and techniques for manifesting and clearing. I used Reiki to clear a kidney stone, and it assisted me to quit smoking. I have cleared past trauma which has enabled me to feel free and unburdened as I move forward in my life. I have changed the relationships I allow into my life, and have forgiven others and myself for past behaviors. I feel truly comfortable with myself and joyful about life in general; I am at one with myself.

My experience learning Reiki has been unique in that my teacher is a pure channel for the Ascended Masters. I have had the opportunity to interact directly and extensively with Dr. Usui through her to know and understand the truth of Reiki and its applications deeply. I hope to have the opportunity to share the truth of Reiki with many others throughout the USA over time.

Reiki is only the beginning for A Higher Spirit Well-Being Center, but Reiki is a powerful and thorough tool for finding, knowing and nourishing the truth of who you are. I will also be offering a workshop soon which I am developing myself based on my own life experiences, the truths I have learned, and my study of energy over the past several years. In time, there will undoubtedly be more seminars, services, and offerings if my ideas are any indication. The business will evolve in time but I can assure you that my purpose will continue to be

A little plug for a great cause:
In 2006 I earned a free trip around the world because of the travel I did as a consultant. I decided to use the free ticket to go to Nepal to volunteer through a group called Hope and Home. They assigned me to the Parizat Nestling Home in Kathmandu, Nepal which is a home for girls of all ages (4 - 16 when I was there) whose parents are in prison or tried to sell them into domestic servitude, or just wanted a better life for their daughters. I was so inspired by these girls because they are balanced, disciplined, take initiative, live with joy, treat each other as sisters, take pride in their home, and have no limits on their dreams. I was with them for 3 weeks and although it was some of the hardest living I’ve experienced, they are some of the most beautiful memories I’ve ever had. I continue to support them by sponsoring Meena who wants to be a doctor when she grows up.
