Treatments typically last approximately one hour and twenty minutes in order to spend ample time at each of the major energy centers and / or specific areas that require treatment. Treatments may be tailored for the individual however, and even a 15 minute treatment can be very beneficial.
You will remain clothed and laying down comfortably. The Reiki energy is conducted to you via the practitioner’s hands, however she will not necessarily need to touch your physical body. In most cases, her hands will remain about 2 - 3 inches from your body. Your practitioner acts as a channel so in no way are you receiving your practitioner’s own energy.
Many clients do feel the Reiki energy during the treatment, however each session with each individual is unique. The Reiki energy goes where it is required regardless of the physical sensations presented during the treatment.
A correct alignment works independently of the human energy system. Therefore the human emotions and thoughts are unable to get in the way when a person is sharing a Reiki session. The Reiki energy is simply activated by the touch of the hands. The practitioner is free from using their own energy during a session; they act as a transmitting station for the Universal energy. Both practitioner and client receive this pure gift of energy simultaneously.
